Expertise Not Leadership
You’re really good at your job and you’d like that to be enough.
You want to be taken seriously but have no interest in being the one in charge. You’re sceptical of ‘leadership’ courses and would like another option for professional development that isn’t centred around taking on a leadership, or management, role.
You’re not alone: most people in most organisations aren't, or don’t want to be, leaders or managers and almost no further professional development was built with you in mind.
If any of this resonates, then this course is for you!
By the end of the course you will:
know why the pressure to pursue leadership exists, and have the language to push back on this without having to justify yourself at length
have a clearer understanding of what actually motivates you professionally, rather than what you think you should want
understand what your current role and organisation can and can't realistically offer you, and what that means for any decisions ahead
be able to articulate both your value and your needs in ways that managers and colleagues are more likely to hear
leave with a better sense of your next step: whether that's staying where you are with more clarity, changing something about your current role, or something else entirely.
Course structure: Four 50-minute live sessions at 4pm over four weeks, with personal reflection prompts and a private Slack channel for peer engagement in between. Max 12 participants.
Pilot offer: £119 (usual price £275)
In exchange, I ask for honest feedback on the session and its outputs, which will inform the development of the programme. People taking part in the pilot get early access at a reduced rate and direct input into shaping what 'Expertise Not Leadership' becomes.
Dates and times for live sessions:
Thursday 17th September, 4pm
Thursday 24th September, 4pm
Thursday 1st October, 4pm
Thursday 8th October, 4pm
