How I use AI in my work

At People & Purpose, our work is grounded in trust and honesty. AI tools can support aspects of my approach, but they never replace human connection, expertise, or the relational work that is important to how we work.

This page explains how I use AI, how I don’t use it, and the choices available to you as a client.

How I Use AI

I may use paid-for AI tools to support:

  • Idea development and thinking

  • Generating options or frameworks

  • Sense-checking structure or clarity

  • Drafting and refining written content

  • Creating a first draft for non-sensitive text

  • Improving readability, structure, or tone

  • Summarising large amounts of non-confidential information

  • Productivity and administration

  • Organising notes

  • Creating meeting summaries (with permission)

  • Supporting time-saving tasks that don’t involve personal data

  • AI is always a supporting tool, never a replacement for analysis, facilitation, or consultancy judgement.

How I Do Not Use AI

There are clear limits to my use of AI. I do not:

  • Input confidential or sensitive client data into any public AI system

  • Use AI to make recommendations without human evaluation

  • Generate final deliverables without full review and editing

  • Upload documents that include employee data, fundraising data, personal information, financial information, or anything that could identify individuals

  • Use tools that train on your data

  • Your information stays with me, and under my control.

Data Protection & Confidentiality

I follow GDPR principles and sector-appropriate standards for confidentiality.

Where I use AI tools, I ensure that:

  • Data is not used to train external models

  • Systems meet appropriate security standards

  • Only non-confidential, non-identifying text is processed

  • All client documents are stored securely and privately

  • AI outputs are checked for accuracy, bias, and relevance

If a project involves sensitive material, I will not use AI for that part of the work.

Your Choice: AI, Limited AI, or No AI

You have complete control over whether AI is used in your project.

You can choose one of the following:

1. Full use (default)

  • AI may be used for drafting, structuring, and admin on non-sensitive content.

2. Limited use

  • AI is only used for generic tasks (e.g., polishing text), not for reviewing your documents.

3. No AI

  • No AI tools are used at any stage. All work is completed manually.

You can change your preference at any time during the project.

If You Have Questions

If you’d like to talk about how AI might be used in your project, or to choose an “opt-out” option, just let me know. I’m always happy to explain my approach.
